§ 05 - Editorial notes
Company overview
Glider AI, Inc. is a Cupertino, California company founded in 2020. It sells a 'Skills Validation Platform' used heavily by staffing firms, MSP and contingent-workforce programs, and enterprises such as Intuit, FedEx and Emirates. Its AI covers a lot of ground. Skills assessments and coding simulations are auto-graded. Autonomous AI video interviews and an AI Voice Recruiter score and rank candidates against rubrics built from the job description, with optional AI hiring recommendations. There are also live coding and AI-guided interviews. AI proctoring runs dozens of integrity checks: eye movement, extra faces and voices, virtual desktops, deepfakes, and an automated cheating-probability score. ID Verify does document checks, biometric face matching and liveness detection. Findem announced a definitive agreement to acquire Glider in March 2026. Glider keeps its own brand, but its compliance documents now sit in Findem's trust center, data processing addendum (DPA) and responsible-AI page.
Regulatory exposure
Glider's AI interviewer, AI Voice Recruiter and auto-scored assessments produce match scores, rankings and optional hiring recommendations. If an employer sets a cut-off score, candidates below it are disqualified automatically. That makes these tools AEDTs under NYC Local Law 144 and high-risk systems under Annex III of the EU AI Act. Illinois' AI Video Interview Act and HB 3773 also apply, as will Colorado's replacement ADMT law. Glider's 2023 NYC page is still online and says 'Glider is not an AEDT' and that its AI is limited to proctoring and note-taking. That no longer matches the product: Warden AI has since published a Sep 1, 2026 NYC LL 144 and EU AI Act bias audit of the Glider AI Interviewer, run on test data, with impact ratios of 0.95 to 1.00. The biggest risk is Illinois BIPA. ID Verify and Candidate 360 are marketed as doing 'biometric analysis' and 'facial geometry validation', and the proctoring tools match faces across attempts and check voices. Yet the DPA says facial images and voice are not used to identify people and are 'generally not considered biometric'. We found no public biometric retention and destruction schedule; the Biometric Data Policy is available only on request.
Path to a higher score
Publish the full Warden report, keep the monthly history public, and extend independent auditing to AI proctoring (face matching and the cheating-probability score), auto-scored assessments, the AI Voice Recruiter and ID Verify. Publish a public biometric retention and destruction policy that meets BIPA, and make the DPA's 'not biometric' position consistent with ID Verify's facial-recognition marketing. Replace the 2023 'not an AEDT' page with LL 144 candidate-notice templates, EU AI Act instructions for use and FRIA guidance. Make the gated Glider AI-feature overview, AI usage model mapping and SOC 2 summary public. Document the human-review safeguards and per-jurisdiction controls for cut-off auto-disqualification and automatic interview termination. Launch a Glider status page and a model-update changelog.
