Company overview
Harver is a pre-employment assessment suite covering cognitive ability, behavioral tendencies, and situational judgement. Following the 2022 acquisition of Pymetrics, Harver also owns the games-based assessment product line. The combined platform is one of the largest assessment vendors used in enterprise hiring.
Regulatory exposure
Pre-employment assessment is the most regulated surface in AI hiring. EU AI Act Annex III §4 treats hiring-decision AI as high-risk. NYC LL 144 applies to assessments used in NYC; Colorado, Illinois, and several other US states will add overlapping regimes through 2026. The Pymetrics product line, in particular, was the subject of early academic and regulator scrutiny on bias-audit methodology — that history raises the bar for what the directory expects to see published.
Path to a higher score
To move into the B band on this rubric, Harver would need to publish
(a) a current bias audit per NYC LL 144 covering each assessment product
separately, (b) Annex IV-aligned technical packs (or summaries) for the
cognitive, behavioral, and games-based assessments, and (c) FRIA-ready
deployer documentation that distinguishes intended use across the
product lines so a single deployer FRIA does not have to make assumptions.
