Company overview
Workday Recruiting is the recruiting module of the Workday HCM platform. The AI features layered into it include candidate-skill matching, recruiter productivity tools, and (post-acquisition) the HiredScore ranking and orchestration layer. The product is one of the most-deployed enterprise ATS / recruiting suites globally.
Regulatory exposure
Workday Recruiting AI is the subject of Mobley v. Workday, the most closely-watched US case on vendor liability for AI-driven hiring decisions. Under the EU AI Act its features fall squarely into Annex III §4 high-risk. NYC LL 144 applies wherever the system's ranking influences NYC-based candidates. Workday's scale means its disclosures become the de-facto baseline that smaller vendors are measured against.
Path to a higher score
To move into the B band on this rubric, Workday would need to publish
(a) the most recent NYC LL 144 bias audit for the recruiting features,
prominently linked from the responsible-AI page, (b) per-feature
documentation distinguishing the recruiter-productivity surfaces from
the ranking surfaces, and (c) public-facing FRIA-ready deployer
guidance — not just internal customer documentation.
