The AI interview page's FAQ says the AI interviewer builds its questions from the job description, that employers can see and edit every question before any candidate is interviewed, and that it returns a summary scored against consistent criteria with the full transcript attached.

A November 2025 marketing blog post says Intervue deliberately avoids analysing facial expressions, micro-movements, tone or emotion and that its AI models assess only job-related content, but it gives no model, data or validation detail.

I found no NYC Local Law 144 bias audit summary and no independent or academic bias audit of the AI screen or resume screener; web searches pairing Intervue with LL 144, Warden AI, Holistic AI and BABL AI found nothing, and trust.warden-ai.com/intervue returns 404.

§ 05 - Editorial notes
Company overview
Intervue.io is a Bengaluru-based technical-hiring company. Tracxn gives its founding year as 2020 (its LinkedIn page says 2021) and names Rahul Arora, Pushpender Singh Rautela and Rahool Benji as founders. The company has appeared on Shark Tank India. Its core business is interview-as-a-service: vetted engineers from its interviewer network run recorded technical interviews on employers' behalf. Each report gives rubric ratings, written feedback and a verdict on a scale from strong no to strong yes. Customers include Upstox, Yubi, Tekion and XpressBees. It also sells AI screening products. An AI screening agent phones candidates, and an AI interviewer runs voice or avatar interviews. Both build their questions from the job description and return a scored summary. AI scoring of resumes and recorded video answers uses weighted criteria and can be set to reject automatically. A built-in ATS carries these scores into later human rounds.
Regulatory exposure
The AI screen shortlists candidates, and the resume screener can be set to reject candidates automatically. Employers using either for New York City roles therefore need an annual independent bias audit and candidate notices under Local Law 144. Intervue publishes neither, yet markets its screening as bias-free. Under the EU AI Act, AI that screens and evaluates candidates is high-risk under Annex III, and after the Digital AI Omnibus those obligations apply from 2 December 2027. Intervue has published nothing on them. A company blog post says it does not analyse faces or emotions, which is relevant to the workplace emotion-recognition ban that has applied since February 2025. For Illinois-based roles, AI scoring of recorded video answers brings in the AI Video Interview Act, and HB 3773 adds notice duties from January 2026. Intervue's privacy policy keeps data indefinitely and never mentions interview recordings, and its terms leave all notice and consent to customers. Colorado's SB 26-189 disclosure duties start on 1 January 2027. California's FEHA rules require four years of records, but Intervue deletes customer data 45 to 90 days after a contract ends, so deployers must keep their own copies.
Path to a higher score
Intervue's quickest gains are in documentation. It should commission an independent bias audit of the AI screen and resume screener, publish the impact ratios by sex and race/ethnicity, and stop making bias-free claims until data supports them. It should also publish a system card. The card would name the models behind the AI screen, explain how questions and scores are generated, report validation results and known limits, and show how AI scores are combined with human interviewer verdicts, with human review required before any rejection. A proper candidate notice should replace the current privacy policy, covering recordings, AI evaluation, fixed retention periods, rights and a privacy contact. It should come with a public DPA, a subprocessor list, notice and consent templates for NYC, Illinois, Colorado and the EU, and EU AI Act deployer and FRIA guidance. Its monitoring score would rise with a trust center holding its SOC 2 and ISO 27001 reports, a working status page with real incident history, a security.txt with a disclosure route, and a model-update changelog.
§ Regulatory frame
What applies to video interview ai.
The most heavily-regulated category. NYC LL 144 has applied since 2023; EU AI Act Annex III §4 treats the assessment layer as high-risk; Mobley v. Workday is shaping vendor-liability case-law here.
